Deliver the Syd Duncan Park improvement project, in partnership with BAPA
Some time ago, Sara and Sarah, two industrious mums from Lower Beechmont, decided their local park needed to be improved.
I love these sort of stories where the community rally together to find solutions to problems they identify in their own community. Sarah and Sara were willing to get signatures on a petition, bring together a team of designers and engineers, consult the community, and liaise with the eventual asset custodians in Council. It was a dream come true for me, where all the consultative work was orchestrated and managed by the community itself.
We’ve allocated $40,000 in 2015/16 but to bring the full project to life and deliver all of the components and stages to completion, more funds and work is required. Commitment #23 in #50Days50Ways is to deliver on the promise to see the project realised in pieces over the coming term of local government (2016-2020), delivering our first nature play park in the city, delivered exclusively by the Lower Beechmont community.
Sarah and Sara deserve your congratulations and support for their great example, but I’ll need you to Vote 1 TOZER on March 19 so I can keep that momentum up and help them realise their dream over the coming 4 years.
