A new visitor centre for Springbrook Mountain will be officially opened on 30th July.
The Springbrook Chamber of Commerce have transformed an old shack, funded by a sold-out Chamber of Commerce concert held in Springbrook last April that featured Australian jazz star, Vince Jones.
Chamber President, Anastasia Theodore, was excited to make the announcement,
“We want to make sure visitors to Springbrook Mountain are fully informed about all we have to offer as a destination. It’s a breathtaking place to visit. We have magnificent waterfalls, beautiful lookouts and family friendly bushwalks, and a vibrant business community with a variety of things to see and do; great restaurants and accommodation, an observatory to see the stars, and even volunteer conservation programs”
The new Visitors Centre is located opposite the wonderful Wunburra Lookout, on Springbrook Rd, at a location the recent Council “Springbrook Gateway Study” identified as ideal for such a project. Ros Bates’ Mudgeeraba office arranged for improvements to the car parking area for convenience of visitors. Several Springbrook community groups have offered volunteers to resource the centre.
Cr Tozer commented on the good work of the Springbrook Chamber,
“This is great example of the community working together with us to achieve a great outcome for the Mountain. My office was pleased to support the Vince Jones event and help deliver a brand new brochure “5 Must-See Places on Springbrook Mountain” and it’s been great to be involved with both the Chamber and Ros Bates office, working collectively for the Springbrook business community.”
The Official Opening will be held on 30th July from 3.30pm to 5.00pm, by invitation only due to limited space. The public and visitors to Springbrook are welcome to visit during the days and weeks after the official event.
