#50Days50Ways - #50 - January 26 Dawn Ceremony
We’ve been really proud to work with Ngarang-Wal Gold Coast Aboriginal Association Incorporated over two years now to host the dawn healing ceremony at Firth Park on January 26, an event that is the first of its kind for the Gold Coast. Over 400 people have attended each of our dawn events so far. We’re hoping to grow the event into a whole of city affair.
It’s one of many events my office has collaborated with community groups to deliver, making our area richer and more diverse in its options for local residents, paying respects to elders of all cultural backgrounds.
In this community, we respect our elders, wherever they are from.
